Zoe Viccaji – Leading Pakistani Female Singer

Zoe Viccaji is among the few artists who excel at a variety of genres, from Jazz to rock, funk and pop; and her music shows a constant experimentation and combination of these styles.  Having collaborated with veteran producers and musicians like Rohial Hayyat, Shahi Hasan, Zohaib Hassan, Amir Zaki, Strings and Shehzad Roy, she has appeared in several Coke Studio seasons. Born with a knack for singing, she started writing songs when she was 15 and made her debut performance in a local band Ganda Banda at the age of 17 and later performed first as a back vocalist and then as a solo artist for Coke Studio.

After returning from college in the USA where she studied Art and theater, Zoe got involved in the musical theater of Karachi, spearheaded by Nida Butt and Hamza Jafri, in which she played lead roles in musicals like Chicago and Mama Mia. She simultaneously kicked off her professional musical journey with her debut single, “Thinking about You”.

Zoe finally released her own album, ‘Dareeche’, through Universal Music India, in 2014, for which she won the Lux Style Award for best album and Indian Recording Arts Awards for the best-mixed album. She has further been nominated for other major awards and has over the last four years released 16 hit singles including an OST for an offshoot of PTV classic Tanhaiyan. She has performed massively appearing in concerts, gigs, and commercial events throughout Pakistan.

As an artist constantly experimenting with Western and Eastern styles, Zoe is currently one of the most sought-after female singers of Pakistan.
